Champion of the 65th edition of the Otten Cup is Barcelona. Barcelona beat PSV with 0-1 in a very exciting final match.
Annually, PSV's supporter's club gives out awards for the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and attacker of the Otten Cup.
PSV and FC Barcelona qualified for the finals of the 65th Otten Cup. The match between PSV and Ajax was ended with a score of 2-0 for PSV. Goals were scored by Locadia and Alberto Antonio (Geraldo). Barcelona came back strong against previous champion Borussia Mönchengladbach. After a 1-0 score in the advantage of Borussia, Barcelona managed to settle the score at 3-1, beating the German team.
PSV will go to the semifinals as group winner. In the third match, PSV beat FC Barcelona with 5 goals against one. Two of these goals were scored by Jurgen Locadia, the remaining by Marcel Ritzmaier, Memphis Depay and Elvio Overbeek.
There was plenty of top football to be had on the second day of the 65th Otten Cup, with plenty of attacking football and fantastic goals from all the teams involved. Ajax and Borussia Mönchengladbach both qualified from Group A into the semi finals, while PSV crowned their day off with a great match against Barcelona in Group B.
The 65th edition of the Otten Cup started friday afternoon with the first matches in group A. On a hot and sunny Herdgang, four matches rich of goals were played. FC Barcelona was the only team to get a win on the day. All the other matches ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Otten Cup is a quite prestigious youth tournament. Género Zeefuik took part with PSV both in 2006 and 2007. PSV´s summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum played for Feyenoord in 2007 and met Zeefuik and his team-mates in the semi-finals. The two youngsters are currently first-team squad players with PSV.
