PSV through to semi finals
PSV will go to the semifinals as group winner. In the third match, PSV beat FC Barcelona with 5 goals against one. Two of these goals were scored by Jurgen Locadia, the remaining by Marcel Ritzmaier, Memphis Depay and Elvio Overbeek.
Both teams proved to be worthy opponents, but PSv was more dangerous during the match. During the first half of the match, Marcel Ritzmaier and Jurgen Locadia scored, 2-0. This score did not change until half-time. PSV started the second half strong, and it did not take long for the score to become 3-0; a goal by Locadia. After a small row, Barcelona had to continue the game with one player less as a red card was given to Bakoyock. Two minutes later, another goal was scored by PSV: Depay scored from a cornerkick. FC Barcelona managed to score one goal after this, but this could not endanger PSV's victory anymore. After a solid assist by Depay, Elvio Overbeek scored the fifth and final goal. Final score: 5-1.
By winning this match, PSV ended first in the poule, and will play against Ajax in the semifinals tomorrow at 11 am. Barcelona reached the semifinals because of Anderlecht's defeat on Sparta. Barcelona will play against Borrusia Monchengladbach.
