Barcelona wins 65th Otten Cup!
Champion of the 65th edition of the Otten Cup is Barcelona. Barcelona beat PSV with 0-1 in a very exciting final match.
The final match of the Otten Cup proved to be a popular one with many viewers gathered round the pitch. PSV started off the match looking tense, and ten minutes into the game Brenet had to take action to prevent the Catalan team from taking the lead. Soon after, an excellent opportunity presented itself for PSV. A fantastic assist from Elvio van Overbeek was headed towards goalkeeper Bañuz Anton by Jürgen Locadia. Although PSV gradually seemed to become more at ease on the pitch, Barcelona opened the score. An excellent attack resulted in a goal by striker Morena Lopera; 0-1.
During the second half of the game, PSV seemed to have lost most of their strengths. Their game was sloppy with many faulty passes, and Barcelona almost scored their second goal. Brenet, however, saved the day and prevented the ball from reaching the goal.
PSV tried hard to set the score equal, and goalkeeper Bertrams even moved out of his goal towards the other half of the pitch, but no real opportunities were created.
Barcelona maintained their 0-1 lead and is champion of the 65th edition of the Otten Cup.
